Thank you, Betty Louise. It must have gone aground when the lake was low, then the rain forest grew around it over time. Lake Ozette changes its level with the rainy season, and that’s most of the year.
I was hiking with friends to find an old grave, not in the National Park part of the lake. We found the grave and also this abandoned boat that had been stranded years before. It’s on the Swan Bay side of Lake Ozette.
It happens more than most people think it does. You were already looking for something , so you were watching everything around you.
You were in tune with you surrounding.
You have to get out before you can see want is out there. Sadly, many people never see what is out there.
Many would walk on by , without ever seeing it.
It’s an awesome boat.
This certainly shows change.

Lot’s of history to be found if we only get out and look for it. Wonderful photos.

Thanks. We were looking for something else, a grave, when we found the boat. Goes to show that things find you when you’re looking for something else.
